En Garachico hay una buena oferta de alojamiento, a pesar de ser un pueblo pequeño. Existen apartamentos y casas rurales a alquilar en prácticamente todos los barrios del pueblo, desde la zona costera (el casco, La Caleta de Interián), como las medianías (Genovés, San Juan del Reparo).

Yo me voy a centrar en la oferta hotelera, bastante reducida, pero de la cual me siento bastante orgulloso, pues todos estos hoteles están ubicados en antiguas casas restauradas, siguiendo el entorno rústico del casco histórico; mejorando la imagen del pueblo y su economía local; creando empleo; y sobretodo respetando los límites que un municipio de tales magnitudes exige, y manteniendo el ambiente de tranquilidad y sosiego que tanto caracteriza a Garachico. Estos hoteles son los siguientes:

Hotel San Roque (www.hotelsanroque.com)

Ubicado en la calle Esteban de Ponte, en una antigua casa señorial del siglo XVIII. En 1992 la familia Carayón emprendió su restauración y transformación en el hotel actual, respetando rigurosamente la concepción de su arquitectura original. Fue el primer hotel que se abrió dentro del casco histórico, a mediados de la década de los 90. Catalogado con cuatro estrellas, posee 20 habitaciones, restaurante privado de comida de fusión a manos del cocinero Pep Nogué; así como piscina climatizada y sauna. A pesar de la imagen tradicional, el hotel ha incorporado una estética artística contemporánea a su interior.

Hotel Rural El Patio (www.hotelpatio.com)

Este hotel está ubicado en el barrio de El Guincho, al extremo oriental del municipio, en la parte baja de una casona residencia de la familia de Ponte, construida en el año 1565, rodeada de una enorme superficie de plataneras, un paisaje agrícola típico del norte de Tenerife. Cuenta con una segunda unidad a 500 metros de la recepción del hotel, conocida como Patio II, antigua casa donde vivían las personas que trabajaban en la plantación. Los dos edificios están comunicados por pequeños caminos entre las plantaciones de plátanos. Dispone de 26 habitaciones, piscina, pista de tenis y un largo etcétera de servicios. De todos los hoteles del municipio, sin duda es éste el más tranquilo y relajante, pues está situado en una zona prácticamente deshabitada, pero además oferta una gran cantidad de actividades en la naturaleza.

Hotel La Quinta Roja (www.quintaroja.com)

Quizás el mejor situado de todos, pues se encuentra en la Glorieta de San Francisco, en el centro de Garachico, frente al ayuntamiento y junto a la plaza de La Libertad. Es un hotel rural ubicado en la casa de los Marqueses de La Quinta Roja, cuya construcción data del siglo XVII y afectada por la erupción de 1706. De nuevo un edificio de arquitectura doméstica canaria que es respetado y restaurado, mejorando considerablemente la imagen de esta parte del casco. Dispone de 20 habitaciones, sauna, jacuzzi y una pequeña tasca abierta al público.

De reciente apertura, esta casa rural se encuentra en la calle Esteban de Ponte y frente al castillo de San Miguel, también en una casa de estilo canario del siglo XVIII totalmente rehabilitada. Dispone de 18 habitaciones, dos de ellas totalmente preparadas para discapacitados físicos, un pequeño spa y cafetería. Una de las características de este hotel, de las que más me han gustado, es que ha respetado la antigua muralla que atraviesa el edificio en el lado que da al mar, la cual recorría desde el castillo hasta la zona de la piscina municipal, y servía como defensa ante los ataques piratas. Este hotel es sin duda una nueva y buena apuesta por el turismo sostenible en Garachico.
