Garachico en la Web. Garachico on the Web

Actualmente, todos sabemos que Internet tiene un papel fundamental a la hora de elegir un destino, pues a través de fotos, vídeos y otras tecnologías multimedia, una persona puede conocer un lugar de cualquier parte del mundo sin salir de casa. Es por esto, que una buena página Web crea una ventaja competitiva frente a otros destinos.

Desgraciadamente, el municipio de Garachico carece de Web, aunque realmente existan dos páginas supuestamente oficiales: www.garachico.net y www.garachico.es, la primera en construcción permanente y la segunda sin información alguna más que tu propia dirección.

Entonces, ¿qué podemos encontrar si tecleamos en Google “garachico”? Pues los primeros enlaces son los de Google maps y Wikipedia, seguidos de páginas turísticas de la isla como www.webtenerife.com o wwwtodotenerife.es. Seguidamente, encontramos gran cantidad de páginas personales y blogs en los que vecinos, estudiantes o simplemente simpatizantes del municipio comentan su visión del pueblo, al igual que esta propio blog.

Algunos negocios del municipio, sobretodo los hoteles, sí que poseen buenas páginas Web en la que ofrecen alguna información en distintos idiomas sobre el pueblo.

Continuando nuestra búsqueda, en el programa Google Earth, con el cual se puede ver vista satélite cualquier parte del mundo, observamos un gran número de fotos de distintos rincones de Garachico, realizadas por visitantes de distintas partes del mundo, y ubicadas en el mapa exactamente donde fueron tomadas.

En otra conocida Web, Youtube, podemos ver diferentes vídeos grabados por turistas en Garachico, en los que sabremos qué vieron sus ojos, y qué les llamó la atención.

Otro tipo de búsqueda, son las que se realizan en páginas de críticas y opiniones de viajeros, como es el caso de www.tripadvisor.es, en la cual podemos leer diferentes opiniones sobre el viaje y la estancia en Garachico de turistas de diferentes nacionalidades.

Todo este tipo de nuevas Web, conocidas como la Web 2.0, ofrecen una enorme cantidad de información al posible turista, y es necesario que el ayuntamiento de Garachico se tome en serio la promoción a través de Internet, pues actualmente se puede decir que “alguien que no está en Internet, es alguien que no existe”. Así que animo desde aquí a los responsables de iniciativas turísticas de Garachico a que creen un buena página Web, en diferentes idiomas, aprovechando las ventajas que ofrece la Web 2.0 y toda esa información particular que ya existe en la Web para dar una buena y sólida imagen del municipio.

Then, we found lot of personal pages and blogs where neighbors, students, supporters of the town or just discuss their vision of the people, like this blog.

Some businesses in the township, especially the hotels, they have good web pages that offered some information in different languages on the people.

Continuing our search, the Google Earth program, with which you can see satellite view any part of the world, we see a large number of photos from different corners of Garachico, by visitors from different parts of the world, and located exactly on the map where they were taken.

In another well-known Web, Youtube, we can see several videos recorded by tourists in Garachico, in which we will know what their eyes saw and what they called the attention.
